It’s a unique new way to play Super Mario, and it brings some different instances that you just wouldn’t see playing alone. The player that clears the course first will win in versus and winning will allow you to increase your Versus Rank, allowing you to brag about your Mario skills at friendly get togethers. In this new mode, you’ll face off against three other players in a race to complete various Super Mario Maker 2 courses, all of which are randomly selected. Of course, if you’re more of a competitive person, then you can pull your friends into Multiplayer Versus. Super Mario Maker 2 players will be able to team up with three other players to take part in Multiplayer Co-op matches, which allow up to four players to play through levels together. There are a couple of different ways that you can team up with your friends in the upcoming Mario level creator, and we learned a bit about them during today’s Nintendo Direct. Super Mario Maker 2 is really upping the ante for Mario fans by allowing them to not only create new levels in 2-player co-op, but also take part in 4-player matches. On top of being able to download courses from the community, Super Mario Maker 2 will allow players to dive into the game together and take part in 4-player gameplay modes, including a new versus mode.
